The Good, The Bad and The Low-Poly.
The Good, The Bad and The Low-Poly is a first person puzzler that I built during the second semester of year 1. This game had the player walk through linear levels completing puzzles to get to the next area.
Development.
Development Period: Jan 2019 - April 2019
Role: Designer/Programmer
Games Design.
This project was my first attempt at making a game in Unreal Engine 4. For the project, I had to design a puzzle-platformer game. This involved creating game and level design documentation.
Level Design.
All the level design including the concept, block-out, meshing and lighting was worked on by me.
A lot of the time was spent creating memorable focal points and making sure they led into one another making them easy for the player to navigate.
Technical Design/Scripting.
I worked on implementing newly learnt systems such as health, grab and throw mechanics, check points and various mission mechanics that worked with each other. I also added a mission objective section to the UI adapting as you complete each mission.
