Development.

Development Period: Feb 21st - Feb 28th 2021

Role: Technical Designer

Games Design.

For this project, I was an associate designer helping conceptualise the premise of the game. I worked alongside the Lead Designer Billy Kane and focused on designing the different abilities that the different robots could perform.

I have also spoken with the team about adding a multiplayer system and potential new mechanics we’re all eager to try.

Collaboration.

Robuddies was a collaborative project made with a team of seven including the different disciplines of designers, programmers and artists.

This game was made for theGJL Game Parade Spring 2021 game jam in which we were nominated for six categories and won three.

Team of Seven:

Adam Green (Technical Design/Scripting)

Alex Moyes (Character Artist)

Billy Kane (Design)

Jamie Sheldon (Environment Art)

Mark Long (Technical Design/Scripting)

Myself (Associate Design/Technical Design/Scripting)

Rebecca McCann (Design)

Technical Design/Scripting.

For the project, my main role was of Technical Designer which came with the responsibilities of delegating different responsibilities to the tech team and merging the different tech builds together so they worked cohesively for the design team so they could start integrating them into their levels ready for the test run.

My main task was creating the two robots’ mechanics and the possession system around them. I am currently working on integrating a multiplayer and save system as we look to progress this game further and continue adding levels.
